Fifteen varieties of distinctively flavored red and white wines from Virginia-grown grapes are produced here, including the dessert wine Dolce Vino, winner of the Governor’s Cup for the Best Virginia Wine of 2005. Among the featured products are the newly released Petit Verdot and Colonial Red Wines.

Year-round special events at James River Cellars include Fridays on the Patio and Sundays in the Shade with live music, wine tastings, appetizers and tours. Special weekend tastings feature the winery’s most popular products. Private events like fundraisers and wedding receptions are welcomed.

James River Cellars is open seven days a week, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday and Monday, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays through Saturday. Holiday hours may vary.

The gift shop at James River Cellars offers all of the wineries products, as well as local crafts and unique gifts. James River Cellars wines are available for purchase at more than 25 Virginia wine shops and restaurants.
